Excel: Introduction

Learn how to identify the various parts of the Excel screen and layout, enter text and numbers into a spreadsheet using the mouse and keyboard, save and print, format and align text and numerical data, use the AutoSum button to add, print out a workbook showing gridlines, and insert a chart. By the end of the course you will be able to: -Identify the various parts of the Excel screen and layout -Enter data (text and numbers) into a spreadsheet using the mouse and keyboard -Save and print, format and align text and numerical data -Use the on-screen keyboard to enter text and characters -Use the AutoSum button to add up numbers -Print out a workbook showing gridlines -Insert a chart. This course is suitable for learners who have completed First time on a Computer or those who have basic IT skills. You do not need to bring anything with you but you might find a notebook and pen useful. There is no formal qualification for this Community Learning course. You might like to take the Excel: Next step course or to broaden your knowledge by taking Word: Introduction, PowerPoint: Introduction, File Management, or Keep your PC/laptop running smoothly. Why not join the IT Open session (every Friday 10-2) to practise your skills.
