The course is a City and Guilds taught programme run over two years, of which three days of each week are spent in the college. Guided learning hours are spent in classrooms learning the theory of animal management and are interspersed with visits to breed shows, wildlife rehabilitation centres and animal shelters to experience the handling and feeding of farm, wild and exotic animals belonging to local community projects and experienced animal handlers and breeders.
