The course is designed for learners who wish to gain a hands-on appreciation of Core Craft and associated fields of study surrounding Sustainable Building, Social Issues and Entrepreneurial Skills. You will acquire the introductory knowledge and skills relevant to the construction industry in the above disciplines whilst working in a supportive environment. The course offers students an opportunity to develop hands on practical skills in a real working environment. The course consists of units that include: an introduction to the industry; estimating; methods of working; building design; and construction. Functional skills are also included in communications, information technology and mathematics. In addition to the core elements a programme of tutorials and enrichment activities and topics are provided.
