Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Part-time and Full-time) · · Qualification: Level 3 · Course Code: 2393 (Part-time) and 1084 (Full-time) · Start Date: September 2016 · Duration: Part-time (1 day per week), Full-time (2 days per week) · Campus: Easton and Otley Entry Requirements 5 GCSE at Grades C or above to include English, Maths and Science. Students with alternative equivalent qualifications should contact Easton & Otley College for further information. Students need to be employed in an approved training practice for both part-time and full-time routes. Due to the nature of the course and employment, this course is suited to students aged 19 years and over. Full-time route students will be required to have gained one years' experience in a Veterinary Practice prior to starting the course. The Course The Programme provides a nationally recognized qualification for those seeking a career as a veterinary nurse. You will be in college for 1 day a week for 3 years part time, or 2 days a week for 2 years full time. During the duration of the course you will need to complete the required minimum number of practical hours as stipulated by the awarding body (equivalent of 60 full-time weeks). The course will be assessed in the form of assignment work, tasks set in college to include formal examinations, multiple choice tests and practical tasks set by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons/City and Guilds held externally to the College. You will also be required to complete a Nursing Progress Log showing your practical experience in Veterinary Practice. College combines lectures, practical work and demonstrations to include small animals and horses.
