Due to the nature of the course and employment, this course is suited to students aged 19 years and over. Full-time route students will be required to have gained one years' experience in a Veterinary Practice prior to starting the course. The Course The Programme provides a nationally recognized qualification for those seeking a career as a veterinary nurse. You will be in college for 1 day a week for 3 years part time, or 2 days a week for 2 years full time. During the duration of the course you will need to complete the required minimum number of practical hours as stipulated by the awarding body (equivalent of 60 full-time weeks). The course will be assessed in the form of assignment work, tasks set in college to include formal examinations, multiple choice tests and practical tasks set by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons/City and Guilds held externally to the College. You will also be required to complete a Nursing Progress Log showing your practical experience in Veterinary Practice.
