This course has a diagnostic period during the first year where students are introduced to the design process through a series of projects in a wide range of design disciplines. These skills will be underpinned with drawing and painting tasks and an insight into the work of other artists and designers. The aim is to give students a solid grounding in design principles, as well as developing the underlying skills needed to visualise their ideas (including the development of photography skills) before offering the chance to specialise in one of the 4 design disciplines: Graphic Design, Textiles/Fashion, 3D Design or Photography.
