A practical introduction to the historical development of Abstract painting. Explore a range of different topics each term. Autumn: introduction to approaches, materials and techniques. Spring: exploring colour mixing, relationships and optical effects. Summer: exploring 'landscape' - places, spaces, journeys and memories. Suitable for all abilities, especially beginners.

Entry requirements

Painting materials: acrylics, brushes, mixing palette, water containers etc. Additional materials will be needed for specific projects e.g. collage papers and objects, textural materials. (A list of materials needed will be provided at the start of the course.)
