A practical introduction to the historical development of Abstract painting. Explore a range of different topics each term. Autumn: introduction to approaches, materials and techniques. Spring: exploring colour mixing, relationships and optical effects. Summer: exploring 'landscape' - places, spaces, journeys and memories. Suitable for all abilities, especially beginners.

Painting materials: acrylics, brushes, mixing palette, water containers etc. Additional materials will be needed for specific projects e.g. collage papers and objects, textural materials.
