In this course you will learn the first part of the Yang style short form. Alongside the Tai Chi moving postures you will learn a variety of warm up exercises and relaxation techniques that you can use whenever the need or desire arises.This course covers:- Introduction to the Cheng Man-Ching 37 step Yang short form plus a variety of Chi Kung postures and exercises to support Tai Chi. - Maintaining and improving flexibility- Maintaining and improving strength- An introduction of Taoist philosophy themes and relaxation techniques. No.Please note: To assist us in providing a safe environment for you to exercise in, you will be asked to complete a Health Screening Checklist at the start of the course. Although Tai Chi is a safe gentle activity, if you have specific health problems such as heart conditions, osteoporosis, you should consult your doctor prior to attending. - The class will begin with warm up and centring exercises.- The tutor will demonstrate and explain movements for you to follow and practice altogether in a group and in pairs. - The tutor will regularly check your progress through observation and will review your individual learning. You will complete and Individual Learning Plan at the start of the class. You will receive feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course your tutor will assess with you the progress you have made, this also documented on the Individual Learning Plan at the end of the course.
