Art Portfolio - Building a Sketchbook

An introduction to the use of the sketchbook as a visual diary of your experiences, interests and visual experiments. You will explore ways of recording and developing ideas in a purposeful way, and experimenting with composition within the context of a sketchbook. This will involve drawing and working in mixed media using a variety of materials, including the option of photographic media. You will be encouraged to discover and pursue your personal means of enquiry and self-expression. This course forms part of our Art Portfolio series of courses that can be combined to help build a portfolio of art and design work., , By the end of this course you should be able to:, Gather and record visual information in the studio and on location., Experiment using a range of drawing and painting media., Identify personal ideas for continued sketchbook work., Understand the purpose and value of using a sketchbook., Demonstrate some ability for self-evaluation., Work to health and safety guidelines. Student with some experience who are interested in a range of fine art media and processes, and aim to develop their skill levels.
