Pastels - Soft and Oil

This Pastel course will introduce you to drawing with oil and soft pastels. Each week you will be given a specific exercise to accomplish with demonstrations from the tutor. This could include drawing from still life, from your imagination or developing ideas from photographs. You will be encouraged to experiment and find your own style throughout the course. , By the end of the course you will be able to:, Demonstrate the use of basic colour theory in your drawings, Mix colours using soft and oil pastels, Show understanding of historical pastel artworks through your artwork, Produce a series of pastels artworks of still life, landscapes and portraits, Beginners and those with a little experience., It is important to note that Art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak with the Programme Manager before you enrol.
