This Art course will introduce you to the process of portraiture through a variety of mediums including pencil, pastel, acrylic and oil paints., Working from both photographic references and life models, you will explore how to approach proportions, tone, light, form and colour. Each project is based on a particular technique, subject matter or a style/genre of artwork. This will include looking at historical, modern, contemporary and global artwork. Tuition is on an individual basis with relevant demonstrations to improve your drawing and painting skills., By the end of the course you will be able to:, See improvement in your drawing skills., Make choices about subject matter and composition, through the use of reference material and observational drawings., Use a wider range of materials including pencil, pastel, acrylic and oil paints., Explore a variety of mark making techniques., Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines., Anyone with an interest in Portraiture and would like to create a likeness in oils., It is important to note that art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity for you to participate fully and get the most out of the course.
