Upholstery - Beginners Summer School

This short Upholstery course can help you to try out a new craft before doing the longer courses. Start with a small project such as a stool, bed head or drop in dining chair seat and learn how to strip it down and re-cover using professional technqiues. An intensive introductory course for those wishing to learn upholstery skills with tutor demonstrations relating to your individual project.

Entry requirements

Please bring a dining chair or stool to your first class, plus a 4oz tack hammer, small pair of pliers, scissors, needle and cotton, pen and notebook. Please ask before buying large pieces of furniture as there is limited storage space available in the centre and we cannot accommodate sofas or settees and this is a two day course . Apart from pens and notebooks please do not buy books or equipment before the start of the course. A small charge is made for tacks and string.
