Watercolour - Improvers

This full day course allows students to develop skills, techniques and a deeper understanding of watercolour. The course takes a methodical, structured approach to teaching the elements of painting and drawing, through projects that explore a particular aspect of technique or genre, step by step. The longer sessions mean that you will have time to really focus on and develop your work, benefiting from expert tuition in a friendly and supportive atmosphere., , By the end of the course, you should be able , • Demonstrate and understand relevant techniques ., • Demonstrate successful and safe use of relevant tools, equipment and resources , • Use appropriate methods to collect ideas, research and experiment, broadening, questioning and developing your approach and quest for an individual and effective artistic vocabulary., • Successfully review and evaluate your own work, • Research and evaluate the work of others to inform your own work and development , , There is no set 'homework', but you are encouraged, if your time allows, to practise, research and do further work at home., There is no qualification for this course., Students who have completed the Beginners course or have some experience and would like to have the time to immerse themselve in the subject in a day long class..It is important to note that art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity for you to participate fully and get the most out of the course.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils.You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. , If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
