Take Better Holiday Photos - Ideas, Tips and Techniques

This course is a beginner to improver level course and is aimed at students who want to develop their skills in photography in order to improve the content and quality of the images they take when away on holiday. Instead of producing 'holiday snaps' this course will give you some of the skills required to work more carefully when deciding what to photograph and how to do it. Students will need to bring either a DSLR or a Bridge camera that has Aperture and Shutter priority modes as well as Manual. They will also need to bring a USB card reader or the USB cable that connects their camera to the computer. Please note:- If you are storing any data/images on transferrable data devices (memory sticks, portable hard drives, etc), please make sure that you have back-up files saved at home and when removing devices have followed the 'safely removing hardware' guidelines on the PC. Please also note that the version of Photoshop Elements used may be different from your own (if you have it)., , By the end of this course you should be able to:, • Shoot in Aperture Priority, • Shoot in Shutter Priority, • Begin to use Manual (read and use a light meter), • Understand what makes a good subject, • Understand the major rules of composition and how to use them in order to better frame their subjects, • Have the technical skill required to shoot in low light environments, , , There will be a little 'homework' after some sessions, e.g. taking photos to use in the next session, but you will also probably want to practise what you have learned. , There is no qualification for this course., , There is limited parking on site, but there is a public car park nearby and on-street parking. For beginners and those with some experience, who would like to be able to take better holiday photos.
