BTEC HND Diploma in Sport and Exercise Sciences (QCF)

This course is designed for students who wish to gain sports qualification to further their career aspirations in the sports and leisure industries, or prepare them for further training or higher education. This is a vocational qualification delivered over 2 days designed to develop theoretical knowledge and apply it into a practical setting to progress into this rapidly increasing industry of Sport and Exercise Science. A range of units will be studied over 1 year. The following list is an indication of the units you may study: Biomechanics for Sport; Research Project. You will then study a further 6 units from the following selection: Nutrition for Sport and Exercise; Injury Prevention and Treatment in Sport and Exercise; Skill Acquisition in Sport; Sport and Exercise Massage; Technology in Sport and Exercise; Exercise Preparation; Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology; Sport and Exercise Rehabilitation; Each module is assessed through a range of coursework assignments, presentations, practical group / individual work. Varied teaching strategies and learning environments are used which include classrooms, human physiology and science laboratories, and sports field and sports hall. The College also has links with a variety of local sporting organisations.
