If you are considering a career in the area of Animation, Illustration or Concept Art for TV, Film & Games then this BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma is an excellent starting point. This exciting course will develop a wide range of skills, both digital and traditional, through the completion of challenging vocationally relevant briefs. These will be underpinned by an awareness of design history and the latest industry standard software. A key aspect of this Extended Diploma programme is the continual and formative assessment of coursework, so you will know how you are progressing at every stage. Year One The first year of the course is designed to give students a grounding in the subject area. You will gain broad experience in a variety of areas such as Drawing, Digital Animation, Ideas Generation, Storyboarding, Character Creation, 3D Modelling & Animation and Digital Concept art. Year Two In the second year of the course you will continue with your chosen specialism until the final term, when you will create your Final Major Project and showcase your talents in the End of Year Show. During the second year of the course you will have the opportunity to take part in an overseas study trip to a European destination. Recent destinations have included Paris, Barcelona and Rome. The second year of this course allows students who have a passion for drawing and idea creation to generate visually exciting and technically advanced works. Projects will involve Digital Animation, Life Drawing, Graphic Novels, Character Design, Storyboarding, Digital Concept Art, Hand Drawn Animation, 3D Animation and Technical Drawing, using software such as Toon Boom, Photoshop, Illustrator and Final Cut Pro.
