An introduction to the language covering some of the following topics; talking about yourself and your family; eating out; travel and transport; and asking for and giving directions. The emphasis will be on speaking and listening to enable you to converse more easily in the language. You will develop your language skills which will boost your confidence if travelling abroad. Some of the skills you gain on this course could help increase your opportunities for employment or working within the community. Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people. Practice at home is advisable to enhance your learning experience. This course is for complete beginners so you do not need any previous experience in the subject. After completing Step 1, you will have gained some basic knowledge to enable you to continue your learning at Step 2.Other courses at the next level may be offered by Skills & Learning or other local providers.
