INTRO TO VOLUNTEERING FOR LEARNING SUPPORT

The course Aims to understand the roles and responsibilities in relation to learning support in a wide range of learning contexts. The Course is for Adults aged 19 and over who are thinking of trying out or are volunteering in a general learning support role within a further education institution or an adult and community learning environment. You will learn to Develop your knowledge of learning support practice in lifelong learning contexts and be able to identify how to support learning. You will identify the values and principles of inclusive learning support and reflect on own learning and be able to plan your next steps.You do not need any knowledge skills or prior qualifications. Learners will need maths and English skills at least at Level 1. Where learners have no prior accreditation they will be able to undertake an initial assessment to assess their existing skills levels. Where learners meet the criteria they will be directed towards further opportunities to develop their skills and gain accreditation. You Will not gain any qualifications. You will learn via Tutor led classroom sessions and participation in at least 1 hour of volunteering in a learning environment. This course could lead to Opportunities for further accredited learning at levels 2 and 3 to enable learners to carry out general learning support roles. You will have to do some studying at home. If you need any extra help on the course Additional support needs will be assessed and measures for support will be put in place by the tutor.
