This course is designed to provide a foundation for a range of careers and the ability to transfer skills in different working situations. It aims to provide a basis for, and encourage progression to, Higher Education and related professions. The course will also provide the opportunity to develop personal qualities which students will take with them into their working life. Assessment is continuous and students will complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate that all aspects of the course have been completed to a satisfactory standard. Students will have a work experience placement with local employers in order to gain practical knowledge and experience of the business world. Students are visited on these placements and employers complete a skill assessment of the student's progress. The two year full award consists of 4 compulsory units and 14 optional units, which is equivalent to 3 A Levels.
