The course is suitable for all ages (minimum age 19) and abilities. Iexercise. This Tai Chi Short Form consists of 37 moves which are done in a slow, fluid and relaxed manner. Many people think of it as a form of dance. Originally a martial art, the Form has been adapted to promote your health by using the principles and movements of the original martial art practice. The course explores the health benefits to be had from T'ai Chi practice. You will be able to develop an understanding of how you can improve your health by practicing the Form and by completing other exercises. In particular, exercises to develop increased body awareness, effective breathing, controlling thoughts and calming the mind. The course aims to improve posture, balance, co-ordination and fitness, not just in terms of stamina but also in terms of flexibility. In class there will be a mixture of whole class, small group and individual practice according to your learning needs
