Progression Curriculum - Award in Beauty Level 1

This Study Programme has been designed in such a way that if you are not sure which vocational area you would like to study in, you will have the chance to move and sample a different area at various points in the year. The vocational areas are: Catering, Construction, Childcare, Beauty, Sport, Carpentry, Painting and Decorating, ICT & Computing and Health & Social Care. This Study Programme will provide you with the base knowledge, understanding and skills to progress onto Level 2 Beauty Therapy. Throughout this qualification, you will have an introduction to the beauty sector including how to follow health and safety in the salon, presenting a professional image, providing a basic manicure, skin care, basic make up application and nail art. You will work towards external accreditation in employability skills and a vocational qualification. Continuous assessment and review towards building a portfolio of evidence. This Study Programme will include English and Maths and enterprise activities and recognised guest speakers that will support the development of skills towards employability and suitability to progress onto the next level of study.
