Both courses have a 60% practical weighting and they will appeal to all who enjoy performing at a high level and composing pieces of their own. The performances may be in any style of a candidate's choice and composition themes will be chosen from a list published each year by the board. To complement this practical work, students will learn how to harmonise melodies and analyse set works in both classical and popular styles.
