UPDATED 20160414 09:35:47

In Year 12 students study the course for 4 hours per week, exploring a title chosen by the candidate using a variety of creative textile techniques and design methods. Students present a ‘Portfolio’ of work which includes mounted sheets of work, sketchbooks and finished textile pieces which may be textile wall art, a garment, installation or 3D textiles, or a combination of all. In Year 13 students undertake a Personal Investigation. This involves a practical project based on an idea, issue, concept or theme. An in depth study to consolidate skills, knowledge and understanding developed during the AS course. Plus written material which is linked to and supports their chosen focus for study and practical work. This written reflection is 1000-3000 words and should include reports on gallery visits, influences on their work and reasons for making particular decisions.
