An introduction to a wide range of construction skills, this course is respected by employers in the construction industry. The Maintenance Operations Level 2 Diploma is a City and Guilds accredited course, equivalent to an NVQ. Through the course, you will gain hands on training and experience in: Brickwork and masonry repairs, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting and decorating, Plastering. The course lasts for one year (38 weeks), three days a week. It will be taught using demonstrations, class lectures and practical skills and help you to develop excellent personal skills. Lessons will be mainly practically based, making use of the construction area, but will also include some theory. Theory studied includes safe working practices, gaining an understanding of materials and construction methods. These aspects may be taught in a classroom.
