Mathematical Studies IB Level 3

UPDATED 20151029 13:03:28

In the Mathematical Studies course the emphasis is on the application of mathematical ideas to real-life situations. The course content involves number, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics and probability. Functions are treated more formally than previously, while statistical work is extended to include conditional probability and standard deviation. The work on arithmetic and geometric series may be familiar to some, but set theory and symbolic logic are likely to be new ideas to most students. Students are also required to complete an individual project.
