From the study of microorganisms to the study of mammoths, Biology looks at a wide range of exciting topics. At AS level, there are four areas of study, designed to give you a solid grounding in Biology: Biological molecules, Cells, Organisms exchange substances with their environment, Genetic information, variation and relationships between organisms. The AS is assessed by two written examinations, each lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes.
