Learners will study a range of units designed to inspire and enthuse them to consider a career in the health and social care sector. Topics covered will give learners the opportunity to develop skills and gain a broad knowledge and understanding of the health and social care sector. This will include units such as: - Human Lifespan Development - Health and Social Care Values - Carrying out a Research Project in Health and Social Care - Effective Communication in Health and Social Care - Equality and Diversity and Rights in Health and social Care - Individual Rights in Health and Social Care - Healthy Living You will be encouraged to undertake work experience in a health and social care related environments, which may include care homes and childcare settings.There will be on-going assessment via unit specific assignments both internally and externally assessed.Pearson BTEC Level 2 First Diploma in Health and Social Care gives learners the potential opportunity to progress to employment in a range of jobs in the health and social care sector. Previous learners have gone on to work in both social and health care settings, working as care assistants, health care assistants and child care apprentices among others. Gaining this Diploma also supports progression into specialised level 3 qualifications in health and social care related subjects, or progression onto various apprenticeships.
