Students will be following a 'democracies in change' route which will focus on Britain and the USA. In Year 12, 2 papers will be sat. Paper 1 will be a breadth study entitled 'Britain transformed 1918-97' and will focus on the changes that occurred politically, socially and Students will be following a 'democracies in change' route which will focus on Britain and the USA. In Year 12, 2 papers will be sat. Paper 1 will be a breadth study entitled 'Britain transformed 1918-97' and will focus on the changes that occurred politically, socially and economically. Paper 2 is a depth study entitled 'The USA, 1920-55: Boom, bust and recovery and will focus on the economic and social changes that occurred in this period. In Year 13, there is a Paper 3 and a coursework option. Paper 3 is entitled 'The British Experience of Warfare:1790-1918' and looks at the aspects of overseas conflicts as well as the relationship between the state and the people during conflict. There will also be a coursework option that is an enquiry in depth that has a focus on interpretations of history. The topic is a free choice and can be anything already studied.
