This qualification has been designed to address the needs of learners working at Entry 1 or below and in particular those with learning difficulties and disabilities. The qualification ensures that all learners are given the same opportunities to access appropriate and relevant education and improve their life chances. The qualifications are designed to meet the requirements of the Foundation Learning (FL) independent living /supported employment strand by providing a foundation for lifelong learning focusing on transferable social and life skills which are essential for living and working in the community.
