ESB Certificate in ESOL Skills for Life (Entry 1) (QCF)

The ESOL course runs for 1 year, from September to June. The course is for people who speak English as a second language and who want to improve their language skills and achieve qualifications English Language classes will cover: Listening and Speaking , Reading and Writing , Grammar and Vocabulary , Education, Health or Housing , Citizenship and Culture and Knowledge related to living and working in Britain . Separate Functional Skills classes will help students develop their Maths and Information Technology skills, covering numeracy and finances, and students can gain recognised Maths and ICT qualifications. These programmes offer an opportunity to gain Cambridge University ESOL and OCR Functional Skills qualifications and also learn more about living in Hull and the UK. There will be plenty of opportunities to join in activities across the college and students will benefit from tutorial sessions where progress and individual goals are discussed and support is offered.
