EPQ

UPDATED 20160224 14:28:57

The Extended Project Qualification is an AS level equivalent course, worth up to 70 UCAS points. It is an independent research project based on a topic chosen by the student. It involves 3 elements:  writing a long essay or report, completing a log charting your progress and delivering a presentation at the end. Some students choose to create an artefact such as building a computer or writing a piece of fiction.  This year students are studying a variety of topics such as the impact of social media on youth, the position of women in Ancient Roman society, the decline of amphibian populations across the globe and biofuels as a future energy source. Artefacts include a group who are planning to send a weather balloon into space, a graphic novel and several short stories based on the style of Edgar Allen Poe. This is naming only a few - its a really interesting and worthwhile enrichment qualification which will look really good on a UCAS form or CV.
