BTEC 90-credit Diploma in Music Technology. This course uses a variety of well-structured modules to focus on production and the technical aspects of the music industry. Although the course does not require any existing knowledge, or the ability to play an instrument, it would be beneficial. Throughout the course you will study a range of modules including, Production Techniques, Music for the Moving Image, Technology in Performance, Live Sound, Music & Society, The Sound & Music Industry, Listening Skills, Backline Technical Management, Music Events Management and Sequencing Systems & Techniques, Composition and more. All the modules are aimed at providing real situations and briefs, for example once every half term technology students set up a live sound system at a professional setting. They then manage engineering of lights and sound. You will also be encouraged to network with local bands and music students to provide near professional quality recordings taking part in the Colleges record label and radio station. C30403
