English Literature Level 3 (Block D)

Year 12 Students study a range of literature under the theme of ‘Love Through The Ages’. This consists of one Shakespeare text from a set list plus the AQA Anthology of ‘Love Poetry Through The Ages’ (Pre-1900 or Post-1900). There is also a study of two prose texts from a set list, both Pre- and Post-1900. Year 13 Unit one continues with the ‘The Study Of Love Through The Ages’. The second unit is Texts In Shared Context - one poetry, one prose, one drama text from WW1 to Modern Time. This open book exam is worth 40% of the A Level; this exam includes an unseen extract. Unit three is Independent Critical Study: Texts Across Time - an extended essay (2,500 words) worth 20% of the A Level which is teacher assessed.
