This course will provide you with the essential skills you need to land your first job in visual design or progress to university. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about design, you develop the skills you need to start a career such as writing an eye-catching CV, contributing to a discussion and making a presentation. The course has 18 units - five core units and 13 further specialist units. The specialist units enable you to study particular areas in depth, for example advertising or illustration. In Year 2 many students create their own briefs, which can help them have a good body of relevant work in their portfolios. So if you want to be a games character designer, a childrens book illustrator or film title designer we can help you get there by creating sketchbooks of research, ideas and development.
