This course provides students with the theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Sports Development and Coaching. The course has a strong vocational emphasis focusing on training students for a career in Sport or progression/career opportunities to degree level. The course is designed to provide a foundation for anyone wishing to enter the field of sports coaching and recreation. This is a Level 5 two year full time course geared towards a career in the fast growing Sports Coaching industry. The course aims to introduce students to the theory and application of Sports Coaching in sporting environments. A key part of the course is the coaching placement, through which learners gain practical coaching experience. Course modules The HND will be broken down into four semesters with four units delivered per semester. All units will require a significant amount of private study designed to develop both your technical and communication skills. Each unit will require the submission of an assignment based on the semester's content. Your assignment will be graded with a pass, merit or distinction with all units counting towards your final HND.
