Introduction to Photography Still and Moving Images Level 1 Award

Do you own a digital SLR camera and want to make the most of it? Or maybe you want to brush up on your existing skills. This course is a great introduction to digital photography that teaches you how to operate your DSLR camera. Learn the fundamentals of photography such as exposure control and lighting and explore professional photographers and how they work. You will explore photography and post production techniques through exercises and follow an inspiring project to produce a small portfolio of creative work.

Name: Introduction to Photography Still and Moving Images Level 1 Award Qualification title: Award in Photography (QCF) Qualification type: Other regulated/accredited qualification Assessment Involves lectures, discussions, projects and practical work. The tutor will guide you through class exercises and a set project. There is no formal examination. You will be assessed on the work you produce for your project and your work in class which you must hand in at the end of the course. Please note, you will be able to collect the work after the examination board have completed their external assessment, we do not keep your work. Entry requirements

A digital SLR camera. You will also need to purchase a sketchbook to produce a working journal throughout the course, a USB stick or portable hard drive for you to take your digital work home. Ideally, you will need access to Photoshop to practice your post-production skills.
