Construction Traineeship

This programme is an ideal opportunity for young people, aged 19 to 24, who are motivated to get a job working in the construction industry but lack the skills and experience that employers are looking for. It is probable that candidates will have been unsuccessful when applying for work within the construction industry due to a lack of skills and experience. This programme will address a learners lack of skills and experience by providing construction and work preparation training. Work experience will also be arranged as will training in English and maths to help candidates become ‘work ready’. The programme will consist of construction trade specific training which will be delivered both as classroom based theory sessions and practical training delivered in realistic sized bays at all times working as would be expected on a building site. Training will also include how to search for jobs, preparing for interviews, developing interpersonal skills and functional skills. Construction trade training will include plastering and tiling training.
