The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Performing Arts is the equivalent to one GCE A Level. The course is designed to allow you to develop practical skills and broaden your subject knowledge. The Musical Theatre pathway offers a vocational course in which you will develop acting, dance and vocal skills and techniques for performance as well as investigating the work of influential practitioners. Your development and understanding will be demonstrated through practical application in performance work. This course develops skills in performance, research and investigation, evaluation and reflection, and communication. The aim is for you to become an independent practitioner in preparation for an arts degree or drama school.
