The BTEC Level 3 Certificate offers a specialist qualification that focuses on particular aspects of the art and design industry. It is a qualification which can extend a learner’s programme of study and give a vocational emphasis. It is equivalent to one GCE AS level. The BTEC Level 3 Certificate is a 30 credit qualification that consists of one mandatory unit plus two optional units that make up the 30 credits. The units are delivered as detailed assignments which allow students to develop their own ideas and skills for a client. There is no final exam. The work is assessed continually throughout the year with students being awarded either a pass, merit or distinction for each assignment.
