Sociology

UPDATED 20161018 10:43:09

Sociology is the study of society but sociologists cannot agree on the type of society that we live in. For example, does social class still matter? Is the internet changing the way we live? What is the best way of testing these debates? The first year course explores issues of the family, relationships, childhood and education and the second year focuses on beliefs including the impact of religion since 9/11 and finally, crime and deviance. Former students are now working as barristers, journalists, teachers, managers, researchers and university lecturers and the course remains one of the school’s most popular sixth form choices.
