For students who excel at Mathematics, Physics or Engineering, or more than one of these, we are offering the opportunity to study AS and A2 Further Mathematics. To choose this option you must pick both Mathematics and Further Mathematics in both Year 12 and Year 13. The Mathematics course is as detailed above. The Further Mathematics course consists of Further Pure I and at least one other further pure unit and a combination of applied units, so that six units are studied overall. Mechanics will form a predominant part of this course. Further Mathematics, in combination with Mathematics, can be of very great advantage to students aspiring to follow degree courses in areas such as Physics, Engineering or Mathematics-related courses at University.
