At KPS, the units chosen for A Level History (AQA) constitute a wide ranging survey of key events in the shaping of the modern world and provide an interesting range of approaches to the development of various historical skills. Students will learn about the rule of the Tudors during the fifteenth, sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, an era that saw the Crown’s authority and influence rise. As well as looking at the impact of individuals and reform of China. Students also complete a single non-examined assessment (coursework), this will test the student’s ability to carry out an historical enquiry by analysing and evaluating historical interpretations. To access this course students will normally be expected to have achieved an A*-B grade in GCSE History.
