By studying a course in agriculture at Hadlow College you can become part of an industry which is key to the production of food, preservation of the countryside and the ongoing survival of the rural economy. Our agriculture courses cover both crop production and livestock to give you the real-life practical skills you will need for a successful career in farming. Using our commercial farms and dairy, you will gain an understanding of agricultural practices as well as an appreciation for conservation, countryside access and animal welfare.  Ultimately, upon finishing your course at Hadlow College, your career in agriculture could consist of one of a number of different options, including scientific research into plant breeding, land agents, agricultural merchants, agronomists and animal nutritionists. Through our degree in international agriculture, offered in partnership with the University of Greenwich, you gain a solid understanding of agricultural science as well as the key technological, economic and policy issues affecting the sector, such as sustainability and the environment. This is one reason why agricultural degrees are in the top ten for employment prospects. Internationally, the agriculture industry is expanding creating with it lots of opportunities for well educated and technically competent graduates. From the outset of the course, you will gain an understanding of the global conditions in which agriculture operates and take a 'hands on' approach to the issues which this sector faces. By focusing on efficient and environmentally sustainable crop and livestock production you will appreciate the bigger picture in relation to agricultural trade and development.
