You will study all aspects of children's care learning and development: - Promote communication in health- social care or children's and young people's settings- - Promote equality and inclusion in health- social care or children's and young people's settings- - Engage in personal development in health- social care or children's and young people's settings- - Principles for implementing duty of care in health- social care or children's and young people's settings- - Understand child and young person development- - Promote child and young person development- - Understand how to safeguard the well being of children and young people- - Support children and young people's health and safety- - Develop positive relationships with children- young people and others involved in their care- - Working together for the benefit of children and young people- - Understand how to support positive outcomes for children and young people.

Entry requirements

Your employer will be asked to support your progress by participating in regular reviews- training you in the workplace and ensuring you meet the induction standards required by the Sector Skills Council - Children's Workforce Development Council. You will be need to provide all basic stationery including pens- pencils- paper- plastic wallets- folders plus any additional stationery which is required for your course. You will also need to provide costs for text books. Good levels of English and Maths are important for your success in your course- your chosen vocation and life. Throughout your course you will continue to develop your English and Maths skills in your vocational classes. If you haven't achieved an A*-C grade in English or Maths at GCSE- or a Level 2 Functional Skill- you will also be working towards a qualification in English or Maths at a level that will enable you to progress towards these grades. If you have a Learning Difficulty or Disability please let us know when you apply. You will be offered support in your interview. If you need help completing your application we can help with this too.
