Throughout the course a wide range of materials, media, techniques and subject matter will be explored including: studies from still life natural and man-made forms figure drawing portraiture mixed media e.g. pastels, collage You will be taught the skills to appreciate composition, design and presentation, the understanding of form, light, tone, colour and texture. What will I learn? By the end of the course learners should be able to:- 1. Acquire an understanding of materials and tools 2. Produce samples of drawing and painting techniques as demonstrated 3. Produce completed drawings and paintings 4. Recognise and evaluate their progress 5. Work safely in an art room environment
