Course Description: This course is for students who have a very basic knowledge or want to improve their previously learned cake decorating skills. Depending on the abilities within the class we will start from the beginning, learning basic skills to help build up your confidence and enable you to produce designs you will be proud of. For learners who have previously attended a course you will be encouraged to add new techniques to your knowledge and skills. Seasonal flowers and models and other techniques for celebration cakes will form the basis for the course. *All students are required to provide all their own equipment and ingredients for this course*. There are a number of Cake Decoration shops around the area eg Sparkling Sugarcraft in Prestwich and Cake Craft in Ramsbottom. What will I learn? Understand and put into practice Health & Safety applicable to the kitchen and cake decorating Cover cakes using marzipan and sugar paste. (We do not bake cakes on this course). Understand the different types of icing and modelling pastes and their uses Identify the different tools used in cake decoration Create a design appropriate for a specific project
