UPDATED 20160115 15:07:00

2016 marks the anniversaries of two Conquests of England - 1016 when Canute conquered England, and 1066 when William of Normandy won the Battle of Hastings. This course explores these events and the colourful personalities involved, such as Emma of Normandy the wife and Queen of two Kings of England - the Saxon Aethelred the 'Unready', and then the Viking Dane Canute, and mother of two more Kings - Harthacnut and Edward the Confessor.
