Beginners will learn basic postures and those with some experience will develop their practice of basic yoga postures, breathing and relaxation techniques. Your tutor will explain the benefits and how you can apply them to your daily life. You will be recommended to practise regularly at home. Please note that there will be no sessions on 1 and 8 February, but there will be a session on 15 February., , By the end of this course you should be able to:, , Demonstrate and hold a variety of postures using correct alignment, Practise control of breath to assist relaxation and stamina, Identify the benefits of Yoga practice, Link a number of postures to perform a flowing sequence, To assist us in providing a safe and healthy environment for you to exercise you will be asked to complete a Confidential Health Questionnaire. , Please take a moment to consider the list below. If you have suffered from any of the conditions listed, please check with a medical practitioner whether it is suitable for you to undertake an exercise programme and bring a referral letter from your doctor to your tutor. If you have not checked, or if it is not suitable, please do not participate in this class., - Do you ever have pains in your chest?, - Have you had any operations or injuries in the last year?, - Do you often feel faint or have spells of dizziness?, - Are you receiving medication for any condition?, - Do you have high blood pressure?, - Do you have a bone or joint problem, such as arthritis, osteoporosis, back or knee problems? , This course is for anybody interested in learning yoga basics or improving basic yoga practice further in a mixed group. , , Please take a moment to consider the list below. Entry requirements

You will need supportive, comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement. Denim jeans, formal trousers, skirts or dress are not suitable for this activity. You should wear shoes with a soft sole. Sandals, boots or any footwear with a high heel are not recommended. You may be advised not to take part if you are not dressed appropriately. , , Students need to bring a mat to work on and may wish to bring a towel.
