ICT Level 1 Functional Skills

Is this the right course for me? You will need a basic knowledge of computers and a good level of English. The course will help you develop skills and competencies in ICT and how to apply these sills to everyday situations. It will also prepare you for further study or employment and to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. What will I learn? Internet, Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Select and use software applications to meet needs and solve problems File management including passwords and security Use the internet to select relevant information for straightforward tasks Apply editing, formatting and layout techniques including text, tables, graphics, records, numbers, charts and other digital content How will I learn? You will learn mainly by using the computer to work on practical tasks with as much support as you need from the tutor; by means of discussions and demonstrations by the tutor. You will receive handouts to help you use your computer between sessions. Will I gain a qualification? You will have the opportunity to gain a formal Level 1 Functional Skills qualification. What can I do next? We offer various progression routes including ITQ units at level 1 and 2 in our flexible learning session.
