Historic Buildings of Tonbridge - Guided Tour

Tonbridge has a rich history and architecture founded on its place on major trade routes by road and river. , The course starts at the Adult Education Centre and then takes the form of a guided walk along Tonbridge High Street as far as Tonbridge School. We study, admire and comment on all the building styles we see from late medieval timber-framed merchants' houses to 20th century public buildings. The course will be suitable for people with an interest in the buildings of Kent, particularly the market town of Tonbridge and its architectural history

Entry requirements

Some handouts will be provided; students should bring pencils for note taking. The walk takes place up Tonbridge High Street on a Saturday so students need to be wearing clothes and shoes appropriate for the forecast weather conditions.
