This course is designed for students who wish to gain sports qualification to further their career aspirations in the sports and leisure industries, or prepare them for further training or higher education. This is a vocational qualification delivered over 2 days designed to develop theoretical knowledge and apply it into a practical setting to progress into this rapidly increasing industry of Sport and Exercise Science. Biomechanics for Sport; Research Project; Skill Acquisition in Sport; Sport and Exercise Massage; Technology in Sport and Exercise; Exercise prescription; Physical Activity, Lifestyle and Wellbeing; Sport and Exercise Rehabilitation. Each module is assessed through a range of coursework assignments, presentations, practical group / individual work. Varied teaching strategies and learning environments are used which include classrooms, human physiology and science laboratories, and sports field and sports hall. The College also has links with a variety of local sporting organisations.
